On entering through El Faran's signature moroccan door, you'll quickly find yourself in the center of this Riad in Marrakech's courtyard. The patio is the symbolic representation of the Garden of Eden described in the Koran. Riad El Faran carries this same mystery with its lanterns illuminating the patio while you will be transported to another time. Enjoy the relaxing sounds of the courtyard fountain while you enjoy an afternoon sièst. Breakfast, lunch and dinner...all moments to be treasured.

We stayed here for two nights before leaving for the desert, and found the welcome and charm of the Riad fantastic. Alain, his wife and all the staff were always available for suggestions, ideas and general information. The roof terrace is a great start to the day for breakfast, and the small pool is surely welcome in the heat of the summer. We took a hammam in the local baths which was also a great experience and not just a high priced tourist trap..!
The hallmark of this riad was hospitality. We were greeted with tea and Moroccan cookies. Every staff person was extremely friendly and went an extra step to be helpful. The rooms were beautiful and in a style I would love to use in my own home. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. The only downside was that one could hear the voices in the atrium (center room) all day, so it interfered a bit with sleeping. This was my first time in a riad, but I suspect that this is common in many riads. We did not have the dinner, but it sounded terrific and was a reasonable price. Also, we ended up needing two rooms because someone joined us last minute, and they accomodated, even giving a great price and organizing the rooms for all of us. Thanks!
