The Sahara lifestyle and the journey to experience it are all part of this 2 day / 1 night desert tour. It is by far the most popular excursion from Marrakech.  A breathtaking, full day's journey from Marrakech straight through the High Atlas mountains puts you in a Sahara desert village where you will see and taste the authentic desert Berber lifestyle. Once you pass through Zagora, you will continue on to the desert village.  From there, your journey continues with a short camel ride as you watch the sun set in the desert! The 2 day / 1 night tour give you a chance to see small dunes, and experience the Berber landscape. You will overnight in a Berber tent and return to Marrakech the next day.  You will leave from Marrakech early on the first morning and return late on the second day.  The trip each way is about 8 hours.   You have the option of a basic, group tour or a private tour.  The 2 day / 1 night group tour will allow you to meet other tourists in Marrakech and then go together to make the trip affordable. For both the private and group tours, the Berber guides are polite and kind. The tents are traditional and the overnight is basically a glorified Berber camping experience - yet, one that you will remember for a lifetime. After dark, the stars will be brighter than perhaps you have ever seen before.  Note: To see larger sand dunes located close to the village of M'hamid, you will have to take the 3 day / 2 night Desert Marathon Adventurer tour.   Options:       1) Budget Adventurer Dune Experience! The basic tour traveling with a group.  Group Tour Arrangements: 69.9 Euros per person: 2 days and one night in a Berber tent just outside Zagora. Includes dinner and breakfast in the desert with a Berber guide, (lunch during the trip not included), camel, and tent accommodations in a group setting.  The sand dunes are smaller in comparison to the larger dunes you can see on the 3 days and 2 night tour called the Desert Marathon Adventurer.   2) Private Adventurer Dune Experience! Private tour: 115 Euros per person: 2 days and one night in a Berber tent just outside Zagora. Includes dinner and breakfast in the desert with a Berber guide, (lunch during the trip not included), camel, and private tent accommodations. You will not go with a group. 3) Desert Marathon Adventurer! Requires private tour: 180 Euros per person: 3 days and 2 nights. First night includes an overnight in the desert close to Zagora. This tour allows you to go on further to see the Draa Valley and the larger sand dunes close to the village of M'hamid.  Travel second day toward M'Hamid and then to Tamgrout which is 25 Km farther from Zagora. Includes private transport, private guide, accommodations, and a camel trek.
